NoteValue is built by maxxxapps ("we", "us"). This policy describes what the app collects, what it does with it, and what stays on your device. The short version: your collection lives on your iPhone, photos you scan are sent to our server only to identify the banknote, and we don't sell data or run third-party advertising.
Banknote photos. When you scan a note, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and forwarded to OpenAI's API to identify the note and estimate its value. OpenAI processes the image under its API terms and does not use API data to train its models. We do not build a gallery of your photos on our servers; images are processed to produce the identification result.
Your collection. Notes you save, sets, grades, serial numbers you enter, and value history are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's terms; we cannot read it.
Expert chat. Messages you send to the in-app AI expert (and photos you attach there) are processed the same way as scans: through our server to OpenAI, to generate the reply.
Purchases. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements; it receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase receipts — never your name, Apple ID, or payment details.
Device integrity. To protect our service from abuse, the app uses Apple's App Attest to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of NoteValue. This involves a cryptographic key on your device and does not identify you personally.
We use a small number of processors to run the service: Apple (purchases, iCloud), OpenAI (banknote identification and expert chat), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Cloudflare (our server infrastructure). Each receives only what is needed for its function.
Your collection is yours: delete a note, a set, or the app itself and the local data is gone. iCloud copies can be removed from your iCloud settings. Server logs used for security and rate limiting are short-lived and not tied to your identity.
NoteValue is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
